Play Aloud was established in 2011 by Katie, a mum of 2, who wanted to create the very best kind of childcare for local children in her Village. Thus, Play Aloud Pirton was established.
Play Aloud St Andrew’s (Outstanding Ofsted) came next, then Play Aloud Samuel Lucas and then Play Aloud Cowper, all with Met Ofsted ratings. Most Recently in 2026 Play Aloud Wheatcroft was opened.

All clubs have a slightly different offer (depending on the needs/offer of our partner schools) but at the heart of all Play Aloud settings, is the Safety, Happiness and the Magic of Play for all of the children in our care. Plus, we ensure that staff take the time to really get to know the children, build strong relationship and give children the time and space to be valued for who they truly are.
All Play Aloud settings provide wrap around care for children from the partner primary school and for the attached Nursery or Pre-school where there is one. So, your children can attend school and pre-school and have wrap around care at Play Aloud with siblings and friends of different ages. Age-Mixed play is incredibly valuable for children of all ages and is disappearing from the norms of our society nowadays. Play Aloud offers all the wonderful, enriching experiences that age-mixed play can bring, whilst supporting the needs of children of all ages.
